Join us for the 2008 Boscastle Walking Festival 6th - 10th October
Organised by Boscastle Chamber of Trade and Commerce
More information to can be found here (pdf link)

Building on the success of our first festival last year we will be offering a ‘Pick and Mix’ of walks and activities. This way you can join us for a day, a short break or maybe even make a week of it by attending the Boscastle Food, Arts and Crafts Festival on the weekend of 4th & 5th October

Visitors enjoying the Valency Valley walk as part of the Boscastle Walking Week 2007

Our guides are all local people who give up their time to share our wonderful area with you.
We aim to offer about twenty walks of varying length and difficulty. Though Boscastle is the main hub we have extended our portfolio to include walks in Port Isaac, Bude, Bodmin, St Gennys and Poundstock.
In addition to the scenic beauty of the area, several walks will have themes such as the environment, history, literary & industrial heritage or geology.

Adding variety to the week will be scenic boat trips on local fishing boat: the ‘Peganina’. Boat master Ken will take us along the coastline towards Tintagel, then back past the harbour mouth to the seal holes near Beeny, where if we are lucky we will spot adult seals with their new pups.

A new and exciting dimension this year is the introduction of ‘A Sketchbook Session’ in the harbour area.
We have commissioned the talents of local artist and writer Debbie King, who has a Studio overlooking the harbour. (www.boscastlesketchbook.co.uk)
Debbie has a wealth of experience in getting people to look closely at their environment, then helping them to recreate what they discover through art, photography and the written word.

To while away the evenings we are arranging various activities such as a quiz, a pottery demonstration, Witchcraft museum tour, local produce sampling etc.

To feed your hunger we are again arranging the popular walkers ‘Meal Deals’ at various local hostelries.
